Very popular in Japan, Hojicha is traditionally a green tea that has been briefly roasted. This heat transforms the typical vegetal flavours of Japanese green teas into a darker colour with rich, woodsy notes of nuts and roasted cereals.

Available here is a powdered Hojicha, instead of the conventional leaf, and the preparation is similar to that of a Matcha latte.
