Ethiopia Reko
The Aricha Washing Station in Yirgacheffe processes coffee for around 500 smallholder farmers from 4 surrounding communities. And while each farmer’s coffee isn’t processed separately, each community’s is, providing us with a more specific profile from each microregion. This coffee comes from the Reko Onancho community, located in the high altitude of the Reko Mountain area in Kochere. A mix of indigneous heirloom varieties + disease resistant cultivars developed in Ethiopia - combined with the growth-time required of higher elevations- give this coffee a lovely floral body with clear notes of tangerine and a slight lemony sparkle.
