Guatemala La Leona
The lion symbol of San Marcos, or St. Mark, inspires the name of this (fiercely) delicious coffee, La Leona. The community of San Marcos is nestled next to the two highest peaks in Central America (the volcanos Tajumulco and Tacaná), and serves as the hub for the nine farmers who contribute to La Leona. This warm and wet volcanic region is distinct amongst the micro climates of Guatemala; it yields a warming and sweet coffee with subtle floral notes and a pronounced stone fruit acidity. It’s been some time since we’ve had a Guatemalan coffee on the menu - and we are thrilled to be back with La Leona!
